Guidelines for Including a Toupee in Passport Photos

A toupee, also known as a hairpiece, is a type of wig that covers a portion of the head. Wigs are artificial hairstyles worn on the head that give the appearance of real hair.

• Clips: used to attach the toupee to the existing hair.
• Tapes: used to attach the front of the toupee to the bald scalp and can also be used for permanent attachment.
• Glue: different types of glue can be used to semi-permanently or permanently attach the toupee.

Rules for Wearing a Toupee in Passport Photos

It is permissible to wear a toupee or wig in passport photos since the photo must accurately represent the individual's current appearance.

Toupees do not fall under the category of headgear that is not allowed in passport photos. Exceptions apply to headwear worn for religious or philosophical reasons, such as headscarves.
